Babylon 5 behind the scenes videos

I'm on the mailing list for Babylon 5 Books, so I just found out about this. Lots of interviews and behind the scenes footage from when CNN visited the set while what looks like the first two seasons were being shot. There's a discount for a while before the official release of this. I'm really tempted to get it, and with the discount, the price seems pretty good.

I was thinking about it when I was watching the video. I said "$30" in my head, because I knew it would be more than that, and it is. I'm still thinking about it, though. I've only gotten the 20th anniversary art book, which was good, though not quite as comprehensive as my most unrealistic hopes. I do wish I'd been in a place where I could've gotten the scriptbooks when they came out (or where I could get the scriptbooks if they were out now... or, more realistically, if they were re-released electronically without this enforced scarcity nonsense).

Anyway, I was thinking about this one mostly for new footage of the sets. I've been thinking about resuming some of by B5 art projects recently, and depending on what's there, it could be invaluable reference for building the sets in 3D, especially since CNN probably wasn't as careful to avoid showing where corridors ended or odd corners. I'll have to think about it.

Oh, by the way, just because I truly hate the "You've got to pay to see this crazy secret shit!" way they're advertised: Sinclair's office was next door to the casino. There was an episode in season 3 or 4 where Sheridan walked directly from the office into the War Room (which used to be the casino). I remember because I thought it was weird to explicitly establish they were next to each other in "reality."

I did buy all of the script books, both the JMS ones and the Other Voices ones, I bought a Crusade book that had a bunch of interviews and stuff, and I also bought that 20th anniversary book (preordered it at Pheonix Comicon actually), but I haven't really been interested in anything else. As far as I know, they STILL haven't released the Crusade script books, even though we're getting close to the 20th anniversary of that show. I've really been waiting to know just what was actually planned about that show.
And these look really interesting because I'm also into behind the scenes stuff, so I probably will buy it.
And I agree with how it doesn't make sense to have only made them available for a short time. Why not release them electronically at least? What's the point in not making available? They hate money?
I'm not sure what exactly you mean about the war room being the casino. You mean that it's the same set, right? I remember reading about that as well. I don't think that within the context of the show's story that the casino was turned into the war room though. I think it's safe to assume that the casino was still there, even though it wasn't really shown much anymore. I also seem to remember reading that in the second season they used a smaller set for the casino so that they could use that larger set for something else.

Right, the casino set was converted into the War Room (I've never seen it said officially, but I strongly suspect it also doubled as Earhart's, though they apparently could still switch back and forth at that point). Since the War Room was next to Sheridan's office, they must be referring to the casino as being the shocking secret next to Sinclair's.
