I've Found Her is dead?

It had been a while since I last looked at their site, and I was wondering what was going on, and I find that it's pretty much gone: http://www.ifhgame.ru/

I know I said before that I had given up any real hope of seeing the actual game or the Black Omega sequel to Danger & Opportunity, but this is still pretty sad. What little there was of the game was awesome, and they pulled off the Newtonian physics so well. It was pretty short, but it was a lot of fun and I think really captured the feeling of the show. What confuses me is how they've just removed everything as far as I can tell. You can't even look at the images, and even worse, I don't see any way there to download the game.

I'm not saying I need to download it again, since I still have it, and I have a feeling that it can be found on some other site, but it's still too bad that the main site for it doesn't even have the game for some fan to come across.

  • Oh wait, you can still download it. It just took a little more looking around: http://ifhgame.ru/main/info.php

Well, at least it's still there for people to find.
  • I think considering that I was playing Danger and Opportunity 13 years ago, *now* declaring I Found Her dead is like beating a dead horse. I pretty much gave up on it 8 years ago.
  • I'm pretty much the same. I didn't really have any hope it would happen, but I thought that maybe it would eventually come about. I think a problem they had was that they kept working on other things. First there was the main game they wanted to make, then came Danger & Opportunity, then they planned a sequel to that, then they also wanted to make that raider game. I think it would have been smarter to just focus on one thing. It's really too bad, because I was really interested in seeing what they had planned, like what the connection to Valen was going to be.

I just happened to think about IFH tonight and came her to see if there was anything going on in the B5 community. Sad that nothing more came of the game but it was a great taste of the universe.
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I'm pretty sure all of its content lives on in the FO archives somewhere. I'm actually in the process of renewing that server for another few years and can likely dig into it over the next month.

I included a few 'nods' to I've Found Her in a mod I released last year for Descent 3: https://www.moddb.com/mods/silent-fury

Nothing much to write home about, especially considering the game engine is from 1998 and was not designed for space environments. Still, it was fun and something I had left unfinished for more than a decade.
