• And that's clearly a fake!

What, the moon launch in general?
• no, just that page that is faking the moonlanding, which probably isn't fake.

You can obviously see the shadows are all wrong in that page.

Don't tell Bill Gates he bought the rights to a moon rover that isn't there. :D
• "Oops"... Well, it was just part of human history...

Moon landing tapes got erased, NASA admits

I still have the original taped Babylon 5 VHS cassettes archived... If NASA wan't someone to take better care of their archives, PM me.

That was clever of them.

Not to worry, the Stanley Kubrick estate still has the originals. :D

Sinclair, i just read that this morning as well, and to be fair, they do have hundreds of thousands of hours of video.. but still talk about a major SNAFU... they will prolly find the tapes 10 years from now in a storage locker owned by Paris Hilton.
• They will probably just shoot it again with Tom Hanks.

I have a question, what ever happened to the lunar modules after the astronauts got back from the moon? The LEM's (minus the landing bases) should still be orbiting the moon, right? Unless the crashed by to the surface...
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading something ages ago that said they crashed at least some of them back into the moon so as to get readings from the seismometers they left on the surface
• We have AOS. T minus 6 hours 17 minutes to scheduled landing.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Most of the ascent stages (probably all) were crashed into the surface to calibrate the seismometers.

4 hours and 41 minutes until T+40 years :)
• Nope, its already past T+40 years.

T = takeoff.
• Oh.

Can't it be 't' for touchdown too? or is it L minus?
• I cant hear the so called 'live' stream ;(

So it was a conspiracy after all?
• Can't hear it? that stinks! I've been listening to it off and on since Friday...nice to work to.

...either that and there is no stream, and I'm in on it:)

• Ah, it was some odd computer related problem... Reboot helped, I was starting to panic as we are so close the last stage.

All fixed now, I take my words back.
• And the Eagle has landed... Oh, wait...
• Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
sweeet
• Take that you Soviet Commie bastards! The Free World OWNS the moon. muahahaha!
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
So I got to the page 10 minutes late today :(

I was sad.
• That sucks Sanfram.

The good news is that they'll have the site up where you can 'relive the mission at your own pace.'

Still, I understand that it's not the same.
