You're not going to fry it. At most the system will be unstable. Thats when you know to bump it down a little. I know several people that reached 1.6GHz with no problems whatsoever.

If you want to fry it, you have to literally take the heatsink off. Otherwise the heat will have somewhere to go, and will go there. Which is why it just becomes unstable.

Well, I'd simply not overclock because it is a fragile AMD processor. Apparently, every 200 mhz increase means 4x the heat [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif[/img]

AMDs are fast enough already anyway. With Intel chips, you need to overclock to make up for the pathetic floating point unit. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]
