What do YOU think should become of Firstones.com?

After years of preparing for the possibility that the game might not be resurrected that fear has finally become a reality. For the moment our mission to ressurect the game has failed. Nevertheless we created one of the best B5 communities on the net and that alone means a lot. I think maybe its time we start to redefine the purpose of this site from saving B5:ItF to a more generalized B5 community. With Babylon 5 being back in business on the Sci-Fi channel and the possibility of a new series as well I think its time we convert this place into the best place online for the discussion of anything related to B5 as well as a location for all B5 related news. We should let all other B5 communities know about it and hopefully draw in a larger audience. We should of course keep an area with the history of why this place was created and what our goals where/are. We might not get this game but hopefully if B5 continues to do well on Sci-Fi we will eventually get our B5 game. I'd like all of you to use this thread to contribute your opinions of what you think should happen with the site now that the final word is in.

    See my important notice for my opinion. I don't think this place needs redefining quite so much, because it has already gradually moved towards a general B5 community.

    It will not die but it will fade slowly if it doesn't have some form of clearly defined mission that keeps people wanting to comew back for more.

    Several uses could be:
    -as a general babylon 5 fansite
    -as a tribute to the memory of ITF
    -as a place of support for future b5 related projects and as a way of showing that fans still want a game

    just some ideas

    My suggestion is only a little thing, but it could help.
    I think it might be a good idea to alter our address so that it is easier to find. What I mean is something with the word 'Babylon 5' in it, so that fans who don't know about this place, may find it more easily.

    I can afford the site up until I hit university a couple years from now... Amazon sales are good enough to cover about half the costs, and I don't mind donating the other half... it won't go down because of money anytime soon. And I will be able to have a credit card a year from now... when I hit 18.

    I am going to get in touch with the webmasters of some of the other large B5 sites (Like tp2b.de, b5mg, lurkers, anything else I can think of) to work on setting up something bigger. Something to keep us going... we might consider shifting more site focus onto the various mods that we host and up until now have gotten very little coverage on the mainpage.

    Rest assured, I have devoted 2 years less a month to this site now.. I am not about to give it up. I love all you guys too much.... awesome community my friends.

    I don't think we should restrict ourselves to mods completely. That would limit the audience considerably. I still like the idea of a B5 news site.

    Big buttons for the mods area in the main page?.

    one big button to the history of the web site and the game?.

    one or more pages with links to other b5 sites?.

    one or more pages with links to sites of closed games(not finished)?.

    one or more pages to links of games magazines?.

    links to merchandise of b5? (something like the amazon system).

    one page or a link to other pages with the date and hour of aired time of B5, and related b5, all around the world?.

    I the emphesis should and must be generalized. By providing a spot for news on B5, have a science department which gathers cutting edge space tech new and put it up, To facilitate mods and fiction, what ever the community finds enjoyable. And to secretly be plotting to use that support to get our game! (and use the funds from our arms deals!) BUWAHAHAHAHA!!
