A Clarrification (game related)
All--
ItF has passed beyond the rim, but whether the hope of B5 gaming goes with it is entirely up to you.
I've read some disheartening posts by people, and others that seem quite bitter.
You should be, but to a point.
But after that point, you should embrace this opportunity, and focus your efforts on letting the game developers, studios, and publishers know that "WE WANT A B5 GAME."
If Trek can get 2-3 games/year, I'm sure that B5 will eventually get one too.
Sure the battle is over. Sure, we lost it.
But a war is seldom lost by one battle.
My thoughts to you are "Babylon 5:The Legend of the Rangers" is around the corner.
Use it as a springboard to bring B5 back to Television. Use it as a springboard to bring you a game.
And we'll be right there with you...we have always been here, after all

Keep the enthusiasm, people. Spread the word that you want a B5 game.
It will happen.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. But what we need to know is what developers/publishers can we go to? Who can we trust. I don't want a crappy B5 game. B5 is about quality, hence I want a qualaty game. Who can/will be able to deliver a game better then Into The Fire? Would it be possible for them to acquire SOME of the ItF code?
Who can we trust?
Onward to the next battle then....

- Gathering of Developers/Take 2
- HD Interactive (netherlands)/ Interplay (US)
- Blue Byte/UbiSoft
- Eidos
- Simon and Schuster Interactive
I'd start there. If the publishers see a market, they'll find a studio. Though I'd love to see the production values of Raven or The Collective in whomever might try to do a new B5 game.
Just my $0.02.
Remember, all the publishers have feedback pages----
---so go "feed back".

Lets hope he doesnt loose an eye.
I hope that another publisher sees the potential of a b5 game and that they ask the S14 team to help with it.

Just a Q#.
Could you tell me exactly what your surgesting...
Is it a Letter-Thon,Lots of us writing to Interplay type of thing, or are you surggesting that if an individual would like to write then its a good idea.
I wouldnt want the games domain to be pissed of with us.
Dont want to sound 'thick' or anything,,just to make sure being as your in the buisness.
'Cause if they wont mind, I think 2251 members of a Ubb would be a big factor in any decision.

Simon and Schuster Interactive would do the same thing Dominion Wars just came out done by gismo games for S and S and it's full of bugs. S and S have never done a good game. Everyone should try to get Raven to do a B5 game. Raven does kick ass games with good quality. they also support their games after they came out and try to fix everything that people are have problems with.

Last time I checked, games publishers paid several thousand dollars per querry for PC Data market reports.
So, why would they be angry if you told them what it would take on their behalf for you to part with your money?

I reckon our best chance would lie with GOD Games.

fishtank interactive ( www.fishtankgames.de i think) they Publish AquaNOX (by massive entertainment), the sequel to Archemedian Dynasty (schleichfahrt in german), one of my all time favorite sims
www.jowood.at they own massive, the developers of Archemedian Dynasty and AquaNOX
And for loosing the spirits:
I've posted short after the news arrived in the german boards:
we might have lost ItF, but there will be a new game, and it will kick some major a**es
don't loose your faith. it has taken /will take 5 attempts to build a babylon Station, and if it takes 5 games until we have a B5 game, we will fight for it, and we WILL succeed.
RubberEagle
The problem though would be the limitation of the hardware, i.e you really need a pc to run a game that has complex missions, that require both a decent flight stick and a key board for ordering people and ships about.
Still though we got to start some where.
Out of the list that Rick gave, I'd possibly consider Gathering of Developers, but they just ditched the Myth III game only 2 months after announcing it. As far as I know they are the result of Micrsoft taking over Bungie. Eidos maybe an option too. And yeah Volition who did Freespace 2 would be a deff option!! Though to be honest we'd want to target all of them, hoping that one of two of them will listen to us and consider the possibilities.
Anyway when the time comes, you can be guaranteed a regular publicity piece on my web site, once we launch of course......It might help to gather support from other people out there!

I reckon it will do very well, given how well reruns have been doing.
Here's the problem...compare B5 and Crusade's ratings on Sci-Fi with DS9's final season, mainstream shows on major networks and even the final season of Voyager. Very well is relative. Of course, being a Nielson family for one ratings period was helpful in doing what I could for B5's ratings (I didn't lie, since I did watch B5 whenever I could)

Actually, that would be quite interesting: Choose vorlons or shadows, and try to 'win' the struggle of "who is right"? (Bonus mission: Play Lorien )

I have 7 wild badgers in my trousers, I'm sorry would you prefer ferrets?
another posibility is checking some..."clones" of homeworld, many times the clones have better features but few support.
so at that point,...a "mod" can be a good system to support that,...or an upgrading,...with lesser license costs, and less time to deploiment,...or somekind of game or mod like in counter-strike, remember C-S is maybe the most konwn mod of the games history.
