Unfortunately, we with the Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line project are at the mercy of the Source Code Project programmers as far as getting newtonian physics goes. They ARE working hard, implementing new features all the time.
I know for a fact that we have someone working to implement RCS thrusters into the flight model, which would bring it closer to the series, so long as the AI can handle it.
Needless to say, I am working hard on a story that fits snuggly into RDM's universe and should be--if the mission editors and voice actors can give it their best (which I know they will)--quite an experience for the player.
Anyway, that's my two bits. http://www.game-warden.com/forum under Battlestar Galactica is where you'll find us! We're actively seeking voice actors and sound editors, and we're ALWAYS seeking modellers/texturers, and so forth!!
BTW, our mod was recently featured along with a couple others in the UK PC Gamer!! Unfortunately, TBP was overlooked...no idea why, they guy must've just missed it in his research (though lord knows how....maybe it's another WB conspiracy;-)

Yes and no. What they did was also justifiable homicide in the defense of a prisoner of war— but, of course, how can you take a toaster prisoner, let alone rape one? There will definitely be a trial, as well as massive fallout from the implications of whatever it comes to.

Punishment for them, perhaps. That is arguable, but it's unlikely any disciplinary actions would be sufficient to deal with either of them; the situation is simply far too complicated. However, it is definitely not enough for everyone else, and the disciplinary actions that are necessary are not really necessary for Helo and Tyrol so much as they are necessary for the rest of the fleet and especially the military. Without it, military order will be severely compromised, and that is death in time of war.

I know a little about FS2 and its limitations; I certainly hope you'll be able to overcome them. It just won't be right without proper physics and sound work.
By the way, I wouldn't mind offering some help with voice work. Do you guys still need more people for that, and are you taking anyone, regardless of recording equipment? $6 mic ftw.

Define life. Intelligence. etc.
This is exactly the point RDM is making with Galactica....at what point does artificial life become life? The "new" cyclons are clearly biological entities. Does the fact that they were created by mechanical intelligence make them not alive? Without a soul?
As I said above, rape has a psychological effect not only on the victim, but on the witnesses as well. So, you can "rape a toaster" as you put it.
Justification is usually the first sign of denial.
Whoah, easy there. When was I justifying anything? I'm just saying that there are serious questions about the nature of humanity, sentience, and identity that will be raised when their actions are finally addressed with more than a towel and a bar of soap.
Actually Sanfam, at the very least they should have looked to see what all of the Cylon models looked like, it would make finding infiltrators a lot easier.
Of course that would be a nightmare for the production company, I think the reason we haven't seen all of the Cylon models yet is so they can introduce more of them if one of the actors isn't available.
Honestly, with the way that ship went down, I don't see that as particularly viable. It's arguable that it was designed to fail catastrophically in order to prevent just that sort of intelligence gathering as a last resort. The Cylons are well aware of thet actical benefits of infiltrators and the necessity of safeguarding their identies as much as possible.

The one thing bugging me about the Resurrection Ship..
Spoiler: There could be a distinct possibility for the battlestars to scour the debris for deceased/"unactivated" humanocylons that they do not yet know of, however they did no such thing! Clearly, the battlestar pair demolished the opposition in what was a prime example of excellent planning and execution. It seems that the ship would probably stockpile unactivated humanocylons and turn them on as needed with the proper personalities, so this could be a good chance! However, I was not exactly watching the episode too closely, so there may be a distinct reason this was not done...
Spoiler: I thought about this the very second they showed the face of Six on the recon photos in part one. If the Cylons are so dumb as to put their models on display towards the outside of the ship then another pass or two with the Blackbird should have uncovered more faces assuming this ship carried more than just Six, Sharon and previously known cylon clones. I think however the idea of showing the Six face on the first part was done mainly for the dramatic to immediately indicate to the viewer what the purpose of the ship was. Its a more dramatic fashion rather than a technobabbly one explaining what the ship does. Seems they tend to take this approach with the show more than the seemingly logical one.

Spoiler: And this is why BSG still fails to make it onto my favorites list... (Great music, great acting...except for a few dealbreakers)
They could settle for a comfortable middleground of plot development vs. realistic actions, but they usually leap towards the plot. For me, this is a bad thing. I like my doses of each to be balanced.
So many of the recent episodes have taken a turn for unrealistic lapses of judgement which either led directly to bad scenarios or ignored a chance to capitalize on a rare, highly favorable outcome...i.e. Galactica lacks supplies...so why not salvage some from the clouds of debris and wreckage they've left in the past few episodes? Just spend a couple of hours, perhaps, and jump at the first sign of the enemy!

Spoiler: Actually, the recon photos only showed SIX clones. The BaseStar they destroyed at the end of Season 1 was loaded with Sharon Clones. It's entirely feasible that the ship clones one model at a time, and, at the point they intercepted, it happened to be "cloning" Six. I see no lack of continuity there..in fact, it seemed consistant with what was shown in Starbucks ReCon Photos in the Blackbird.
Hey I love BSG! What season are you guys on? I not read all the posts for fear of learning too much. Just started the 2nd season over here. You on the 3rd?? I know for ages after the 1st season that they didn't know if there'd be anymore.
I can't get into the 2nd season as well since its been so long since I seen the first. Was going to watch the last few of them again but I can't find them.
No, season 2 is 20 episodes. It took a break half way through for a couple months and has started up again. If you want to rewatch season 1, just get a torrent.

Spoiler: Well, that's not all they're used for. Apparently, they're a substantial portion of the overall Cylon population. Only a few are actually spying. There are probably dozens, if not hundreds aboard every basestar.

Well hello there model number four serial number 83JFN3678, I'm doing just fine thank you for asking. Killed myself a few dozen humans this morning, what fun!" Thats got to get very confusing.
Remember you can also buy them for $1.99 over iTunes. The quality is not that great to watch full screen on your computer but it gets the job done. You can also buy the first 10 of Season 2 on DVD already.
Aside from having to work till 10 pm tonight (BSG on at 9 pm), here's hoping that the wind doesn't fuck up my reception on DirecTV during the replay at midnight...
