Spring! A time when a great evil reemerges from it's lair to spread fear in the hearts of synthetic beings everywhere!
Of course I'm talking about Peeps. Vile multi-colored marshmellowy creatures of DOOM!!!!
But as evil as they are...they are our only protection from the Cylons....
Heh, ok, for those of you who don't know the back story, and I believe that's all but, like, three of you, I must explain.
You see, back in the long year between the airing of the mini-series and the start of season 1, there was a BSG fanfiction writers group on Yahoo that was buzzing with activity and I happened to be a member of this group. One night we were in the chat room talking about candy and someone offered me a virtual Peep.
Now, I hate and I mean [B][I]HATE[/I][/B] Peeps. They are VILE and EVIL creatures.
Well, one of the members was so highly amused by my reaction to Peeps that she wrote, I kid you not, a BSG fanfic involving Peeps. And it is [I]hysterical[/I]. [URL="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1774492/1/Vermin"]You can read it here.[/URL]
If you don't feel like reading it, here's the short. Basically, an army of evil Peeps invades a Cylon Basestar and the Cylons are helpless against the power of marauding marshmellow. I was rolling just reading it.
This fic of course became famous in the group. We all adopted the hilarious idea that the only thing in the universe capable of frightening and defeating a Cylon is a Peep and so we all dutifully keep boxes...eh hem...[I]squadrons[/I] of Peeps stationed in our houses as protection. To this day, my original purchases are here along with new squadrons. I buy a new one each year (except for 2007 which somehow got skipped). This year, we bought two, actually. Yellow Squad was first, April of 2004. Blue Squad in 2005, Orange Squad in 2006, Green and Purple Squads were added this week: (rather large pics)

They are Halloween Peeps, so yes. They also come in ghosts. There are also Christmas Peeps in the shapes of snowmen and christmas trees, as well as Bunny Peeps of course.
Chaosed, you mean before this you DID trust pumpkins that went 'peep'? O_o
