Lightwave Problems regarding Whitestar

Sorry to trouble you all, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to understand why I can't patch the spline curves that I built for the the Whitestar's wing. I keep getting a message that tells me that my curves don't cross correctly.

I am building the Whitestar based on Kier Darby's tutorial and am pretty sure I have followed the instructions to the letter, so I have no idea what the problem is.

First thing to check when you get this (highly annoying) message is that the points where they cross are actually the same point, and not just 2 points in the same place.
If that doesn't work, try selecting them in a different order. I find that often allows it to patch.
