And if we are putting up posters and stuff to let people know...we should put them up in sci-fi shops too...places like Forbidden Planet (I know the people in the Bristol branch, they would probably do it if I asked).

Look, I'm not trying to discourage you guys but it is very hard for me to see how ANYONE, ANYWHERE will take us seriously. I think the old adage applies: "you can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job". Do any of you realize what connation we, as North Americans and Western Europeans, have as the young computer owners that we are? It is as I said before: with the most negative of images.
Corporations only listen to someone if they have an image (a la Capcom) or reputation (a la Blizzard) to back it up. So far we have a corporate image of "bitching over our lost game" and a reputation "of not knowing when to grow up and face the music". And do you think we're going to convince our non-B5er friends and neighborhood gaming outlets to fork over their/their parents hard earned cash to a game that is not certain to be good/exist? Do you think retail chains like EB or even GAME, with their "cool" attitude, will be any different?
What we need is a NEW IMAGE. We need to put our foot down and say mods/TCs, as entertaining they are, are simply not enough for us! We neet to show 'em that with no one to do our fighting for us (Sector 14) that *WE* will do it ourselves! Then maybe, just maybe, they'll chip in; however, I doubt it. Like I said, from a totally realistic POV: companies ain't gonna listen to us, and from a practical POV: they only way this game get's finished is if we initiate its finishing.

you're right Faylorn.... and I am attempting to find out if we even have a chance to use this option.... chill and charge your PPG......
Well, I hope you get the answer you're looking for, because I've been waiting with the other guys here for a very long time. But if they say no, they probably won't give you a reason why, just a formal 'not interested, thank you for you inquiry and please buy "PBR2: Return of Bronc-Master Bodine." You have to remember, Sierra spent a fair amount of money on ITF. Management there will need a good reason to give the IP or rights to anything away, meaning benefit to themselves. They don't care how much money we might make, they only care how much money they will make. It will have to be enough to endure the humiliation they will feel when we succeed.
Again, I want you to get this working, but I do not have faith in the good will or ability to use rational thought of the Sierra execs. After so much hope and loss, how much more do we want to go through. 'Whatever it takes' may be a good motto, but if it means despair for nothing, it will be better to work on other thigs or start over.

Shadow Boxer this sounds crazy enough to try. I know that it is a pipe dream, but a pipe dream is better then no dream. I'm all for the mods that are being developed, but what is this attempt going to hurt...I'll start doing some brainstorming too, what the hell.

I think we could use the IFH game engine which to me looks very good and true to B5, to create our version of ITF. If we recieved permision from the makers of this freeware game, then we could add to it aspects which would make it like Into The Fire. I don't know if its possible, but maybe the dynamic universe and A.I that was intended for ITF could be implemented into the existing engine.

trust me, when I turn my hand to it I can kiss arse with such delicacy and skill that I'm positively ashamed....
