Help with Hotmail Issue?

Here's the deal: cannot open hotmail. Messenger correctly reports number of new messages, can even see a list of messages in that MSN Today window thingy...but cannot open inbox or messages in Explorer or Firefox. Tried it on my desktop and my wife's laptop; nothin.
Now here's the catch: my wife can access HER hotmail on both computers.
I cannot access it through Outlook either.
It's been doing this since last night; today when I was up at the office at the university, I could access my hotmail. home an hour and a half later....can't. either I caught a window when the server was running okay, or there's an issue with my home network regarding my hotmail account; that seems unlikely though, as my wife's works fine.
Any thoughts?
