Last Chance for B5 Miniatures ?

Some may remember the Babylon 5 Fleet Action table top games by Agents of Gaming from several years back, and the metal Miniatures of Babylon 5 ships that accompanied them.

When AOG closed down, I thought that all Babylon 5 Miniatures were gone as well. It turns out, that late last year Ironwind Metals managed to get a license to manufacture more of them. Their license will expire next month, and they have no intention to renew it. When that happens, the last chance to acquire these models with disappear. Before that happens, I figured I should share the link with everyone here:

I've never really looked into the game before because I don't know anyone who would be interested in playing it. When I was younger I was into Warhammer 40k which I guess is similar. After hearing Iron Wind Metals were loosing the licence something triggered in my mind ''collectables''. I guess they'll be collector items on ebay soon. I would have purchased some for the fact I love collecting B5 stuff however I would soon spend every last penny I have.

Tis a shame to see the franchise disappearing, will a record with pictures be kept on the Wiki? I had a little look for ''Poseidon Super Carrier'' but found nothing on the Wiki.

    Thanks for the link.

for me, they are collectible I put on a shelf, never play the game, but considering that you can't get model ships from B5 without spending insane amounts of money for some resin kits...this is it for me.

I mean, Babylon 5 is what? 7 inches long? the omega is almost 5? thats large enough for me. :D

They're also quite challenging to assemble and paint, which is a fun (if you like that sort of thing) challenge itself. I would suggest, however that people looking for these also check into local RPG supply shops. I've found more than my fair share of these in discount bins all over the place.

seriously? I never would have thought that the B5 ones would have made it to stores!

Most of these pewter figures were distributed alongside Warhammer (and similar brand) figures through retail channels as their primary route, with online sales not likely accounting for much more than a trickle. Always check the local stores first, then head online :P

you know, I've been doing it totally backwards then. I do online first, and then try local stores!

Got mine today, all in great shape, and a bit bigger than I expected!

Unfortunately my G'Quan is missing one of the surface wings, so I'll have to contact them about that. (Can't really blame them, alot of parts! I've spent about $200 on these things, building up a complete fleet of ships of all the ones from the show I loved.)

I might place one more order for some raiders and some others soon...wait until next payday though. :)

-edit: just got word back, they are mailing me the missing part. :D Woot!
  • It was a shame, I collected around 600 bucks worth of stuff and had so much fun painting my own fleets.
