    I got a switch (I was pleasantly surprised considering I thought I had bought a hub) and two network cards for the two new computers to connect to my network. And now I'm making network cables out of the 50m of cable I bought the other day while installing the shiney new 256MB module of RAM I bought at the same time and setting up a linux server to act as an internet router. Fun times. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]

    PS: The switch has lots of pretty lights!

    I'm hoping to redesign my network this year. For some systems, Data has to jump through so many flaming hoops just to get from one system to another.

    Yeah Switches are the way to go...

    Although between two 100 Mbit machines you won't see the value so much as when you start adding friends machines or other machines of your own on it!

    I'm going to have 5 machines on my network, 2 of which will be up almost all the time, 2 more will be up much of the time. The 5th is a 486 and will only be connected for data transfers (ie old games).

    Hmm....we have a 16 port SMC 10/100 Switch at the office...very very nice. You can even rackmount it if ya want!
