    I really like the glass pieces, they look great! The refelctions also seem to be just the right amount. A couple of suggestions:

    Bevel the edges of the chess board, they're too sharp as it is.

    The background could use a little more. Maybe just add some complexity to the volumetric light. It needs to be a tad more interesting.

  • Could you change the perspective so that one would see one (or some) of the "forces of light" between some of those "shadows" [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif[/img] -- it would add to the dramatic atmosphere.

    I'll try that if i can do it without ruining my carefully set lighting [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/rolleyes.gif[/img] , and yes, it is quite unusual chess position [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]

    Slade, I wasn't quite sure what you meant, but i did it anyway [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img] I hadn't used Truespace's bevel tool ever before, but [url="http://koti.mbnet.fi/~piit/kuvat/chessmaster2.jpg"]this[/url] is what i did and i think it looks lot better than the first one.
    Also, about the backround, [url="http://koti.mbnet.fi/~piit/kuvat/chessmaster3.jpg"]this[/url] is more like what i was going for in the first place (more visible rays), but i'm not sure anymore wich looks better.
