Programs?

Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but...

Who is using what for their renders, and why?

Thanks

Lightwave 5.6 and Photoshop 5 for me. As for why... only because they're the best programs around.

A2597, look at the bottom of the topic, you'll see a link that says "Archive/Move". You do it there.

  • RubberEagleRubberEagle What's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
well, the programs most people use would be Lightwave, 3D Studio MAX and then of course Blender

Lightwave and soon Maya as well.

Still use Lightwave 5.6c heavily. I have a large investment in plugins that I can't afford to bring up to version 7.0b yet.

I have 6.5b and 7.0b as well, still on the learning curve for those...

Next is MAYA 2. Soon to be a educational version 4, like Biggles said.

I use Photoshop 6 almost entirely for image/2D work, along with a whole host of plugins to cut down work time.

I use many, many things, bt your question was specific to art/3D...

Speaking of Photoshop, can anyone point me to some good solid tutorials that cover more than one specific area?

Cinema XL 7 all the way, and Photoshop/Freehand for textures. Tried the Lightwave demo and Blender, but couldn´t make heads or tails of them... got to little spare time on my hands to figure them out.
Next on my list will probably be the Maya Personal edition (though I have no idea where I should squeeze out the time to learn another program), to see where all the buzz for Maya comes from...

    Lightwave 5.6c and Photoshop 6.0.

Why? Because I have found them to be the best tools for me.
