Whats wrong with this image ?

This is a thunderbird I've been working on, not the car, but the 'real deal' an avian totem from North American Indian culture...

I just cant seem to nail whats not working with it... input please folks...

where is it falling over as an image ?

    I am by no means an artist, and I am sure others here have a better eye than I do, but to me it seems as if the individual elements of the bird are too disconnected. It almost looks as if the wings, feet, head and whatnot are all seperate drawings that have been put togather for this image.

    I think Freejack is right.

    I would add some representation of the body of the bird to help connect everything.

    Why would you think that? He DID say that this was a thunderbird that didn't require gas or oil.

    IMO, the "bolts" around the eyes are too long and a bit much..trim them down and make them thinner and it might be better.

    I dont know about a body. How about a small symbol (circle?) in the middle of the picture instead. And different colors.

    I think the 2nd version is much better than the 1st. My original impression of the 1st was the same as Freejack's.
    As for my original impression of the thread title... well that was the same as Jambo's. Thunderbirds rock. I just hope they don't screw up the movie. :)
