    Also entweder bin ich ziemlich vergesslich, habe mittlerweile den Überblick verloren, habe was verpasst oder das Spiel ist einfach neu.
    Ich spreche von den News zu B5:FPS. Ich denke mal FPS wird ja wohl für First Person Shooter stehen und nicht für frames per second. Ich kann mich aber nicht erinnern von dem Projekt schon mal gehört zu haben. Das einzige was in die Richtung ginge wäre "Shadows in the Night", aber ich denke der MOD ist eingestellt worden. Also hilft mir bitte auf die Sprünge und sagt mir was es mit B5:FPS auf sich hat. Ne URL wäre auch nicht schlecht. Danke.

    Wo ich gerade am Fragenstellen bin, was meinst Du mit B5MG, RubberEagle?

    May 14 .2001 - Whew! A long time no see, but hopefully that will change. We were working with me as the Project Leader and X-Omega as webmaster
    and that caused some difficulties in updating the site as he wasn't very active. Now he says that he might not have enough time to handle
    his job so after a while it will be me updating these pages. At the same time this page is getting a complete workout. I don't know when I'll be having the new layout finished and online (working on my last year in school etc.) but if everything goes smoothly it should be ready in 2-3 weeks.
    One new model added (Omega, picture here [url="http://www.kolumbus.fi/virve.eerola/pics.html"]http://www.kolumbus.fi/virve.eerola/pics.html[/url] ) and 3 new models are coming (hopefully soon) : Starfury, Shadow Battlecrab and Warlock.
    Our composer said that there are some music tracks just in the FINAL stage and hopefully are released soon.
    Also there is an idea that we would do a preview video with the game engine to show how good it is. Still no word about the server...Hopefully soon. Haven't met our PR person in many weeks.

    So, this might be the last update to this site by me. Firstly I want to apologise the Project Leader for the delays in updating the site and especially for the record-breaking delay in rendering the video (already four months late). I still intend to render it some time but I don't mind if someone else does it. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif[/img] I'd like to thank the PL for giving me a change in participating in this project and I wish the whole team to succeed in making a good game.

    Over one year in the making.

    Buda 5 is pleased to announce the release of Buda5:Raiders - a campaign set in the Babylon 5 universe, for the game Independence War.

    The campaign features:
    -Strong character and story based plot.
    -24 challenging, thought provoking missions.
    -90 minutes of spoken dialogue by professional actors and talented amateurs
    -Over 50 custom ship and station models (many previously unreleased by Buda5)
    -In game music and sound effects.
    -Custom rendered CGI cutscenes and briefings.
    -multiple difficulty options

    The campaign works with Independence War and Independence War-Defiance in both software and hardware 3Dfx graphics modes,, however Defiance with a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card is the recommended platform.

    The campaign is available in a two part download (50 meg each):

    Ok. Other than the current models having a few problems, I can't see a reason to delay the release any longer. If/when we get more models, we can always release an update (as missions are scripted in this release). In fact, I'm sure there's some of you out there who'll be making your own missions anyway .
    So the tentative date is next Monday. I should only need a couple of hours to get everything in order but I probably wont get any free time until this weekend.

    Thanks for hanging in there everyone! We're finally (almost) there .

    No, still no firing support at this time, but I put a good deal of time in on the physics engine so I think you'll be pleased [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]. I've made a simple scene with the above listed ships (and there are a few more not listed there), but I don't want to describe it here -- I'd rather you see it fresh. I will say that everything is textured, B5 and the omega have their respective rotating sections, and when you first go into the game, accelerate to the right (just off the side of b5) and hang there for a minute.

    Also, after you've explored the current scene, you can always edit it [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]! I've had a few ideas, but you all will have a 1,000,000 more I'm sure. Be creative and have fun.

    Last month I was redesigning and rewriting the game's flight model. Now I can announce that it's done and true newtonian/inertial/zero-g/you-name-it flight is implemented. Control methods and modes remain pretty much the same (cruise or guided mode for simple flight and inertial or free mode for advanced maneuring), but what's inside makes a difference.

    Now every ship in it's motion only depends on it's engines (which are working against the mass and inertia momentum of that particular ship). Your ship's computer analyses your pitch, yaw, throttle and other control settings and decides how it could be achieved with current set of working engines (initially, all of them
    are considered working, but with the progress of the mission - who knows).

    So, for example, if your starfury suddenly loses engines on the upper right wing, you'll notice that left turns are harder to make that right ones... Futhermore, if you lose another one on the right *or* on the top, you'll not be able to move stright forward... And so on...     There will be definitely impulses due collisions and other damage and even recoils from your own cannons [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif[/img]

    NOW it will be pain in the butt for our modellers (and me, I suppose) to actually DESIGN all there B5 ships in terms of actual ability to flight. Because only starfury and thunderbolt have obvious engine set which *will* work. Aside gravimetric ships, all the other ships have definite problems here - there are no (visible) forward engines, no rotatinal thrusters etc... We have to figure something out (and any help on that matter would be appreciated).

    Fuel consumtion is in consideration. We think that it'll add another degree of realism *and* playability in the game. But be afraid - you'll be able to run out of fuel...
