Finally, a company attempting to work within the demand, rather than attempt to bludgeon demand with a bat.

The idea that there may be tiers of customers who have different demand and would be willing to pay more for music that is more flexible and better quality makes good sense.

Now all they need to do is offer lossless for a reasonable price and I'll be happy.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
EMI, the world's third-biggest record label, said every song in its online catalogue will be available in the "premium" format. It said the tracks without locks will cost more and be of higher quality than those it offers now.

So they'll be out-pricing the market again and will be unable to capture enough sales for it to be a success, and declare that removing DRM didn't actually give any benefits to the listeners, thus enabling them to step it back up again.

Hopefully it will be a success, but Sanfam makes a good point.
I hope they get rid of DRM!
