Possible huge impact structure in Mars

E.TE.T Quote-o-matic
Looks like Mars has been treated rather badly in past...
This crater remnant whose size covers 40% of surface would also explain different topography of northern and southern hemispheres.

Talking about some big fireworks... :D

BTW, here's some good maps of Mars:

  • On the last map. Is that Olimpus Mons at horizontal -10 and longitude -120? I bought a house there through Nation Wide.

Olympus Mons is the really big one on the left side above and to the left of the three smaller ones.

I think it's time reintroduce public flogging for coming up with those silly names.

Olympus Mons? It's Mars, not Greece! So if anything it should be Roman names. :D

Mike Rotch? Mike Rotch? Has anybody seen Mike Rotch lately? :D

All you have to look at is upstate NY where I can go to Greece, Mexico, Ontario, Sweden, and Egypt all in less than a two hour drive. I can also go to Brighton, Manchester, Bergen, Warsaw, Wyoming, Sparta, Kent, Caledonia, York, Avon, Lima, Leicester, Bristol, Atlanta, Naples, Ulysses, and Romulus. Seriously!

Just proves the lack of imagination of the local population. The same can be said here in Europe, there are quite a few towns that have the same name just across the border.
