Great, we already know this. Don't these guys watch scifi? :D

I hope this was just someone's PhD thesis.

At this rate they will find the space ship we arrived in buried under the Sahara desert before long and then we will begin our quest for our homeworld.

Why?
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
Because it's a subject matter that lends itself to PhD theses and I have read some NASA news reports that stated as much. A lot of research is done that way, but I don't have to tell you that. :D Why are you asking?

I was just curious why you think there's a difference between research done for a PhD and research done after a PhD. There isn't, really, and the way you worded it sounded like you were implying that PhD research is simplistic and doesn't make new or important discoveries. Typically only the organisational structure of the project (in terms of funding, etc) changes between research done by a PhD student and research done by a full scientist. PhD students just make good grunt researchers. :D

Exactly. :D I see some every day.

I didn't say it was easy or simple. I was just implying that we already know that the components of life were introduced to our planet from star stuff and that program managers tend to let PhD students do the actual research work. :)

It was posited due to finding amino acids in meteorites that life was seeded by comets, but this is the first real proof. So we thought, but we didn't know. Now we have evidence, so we think stronger, but we still don't really know.

I'm always amazed how much those astrophysicists can say so much about the universe with such confidence just from looking at it or their fudged numbers. :D
• I nearly crapped my pants when I read this.

I don't really buy the whole "life came to Earth from comets / asteroids etc" theory because it just seems like passing the buck: if life was introduced here from comets etc., then how did it get there in the first place...?

Anyway, the fact that they found this amino acid on a comet is amazing. I'm surprised more of an issue hasn't been made of it.

When they talk about the components of life then they don't mean life forms, but chemical elements and molecules. It's not like sperm cells travelled through space. :D

It was also suspected due to the predominance of left (or is it right?) handiness of these basic molecules, and the prodominant left handedness of minerals found it meteorites.

• An essay on sperm cell space travel

'Brilliant', 'Quite Good', 'What?', these are just some of the comments made recently in the press regarding sperm cell space travel. At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of sperm cell space travel. While much has been written on its influence on contemporary living, it is impossible to overestimate its impact on modern thought. Inevitably sperm cell space travel is often misunderstood by socialists, many of whom blame the influence of television. Relax, sit back and gasp as I display the rich tapestries of sperm cell space travel.

Social Factors

Society is a simple word with a very complex definition. When Sir Bernard Chivilary said 'hounds will feast on society' he could have been making a reference to sperm cell space travel, but probably not. Difference among people, race, culture and society is essential on the survival of our world, however sperm cell space travel is quite good.

Status, Security, Fame - sperm cell space travel, all revolve around this 'golden fleece'. It is intrinsically linked to adolescent inner acclimatisation.

Economic Factors

We no longer live in a world which barters 'I'll give you three cows for that hat, it’s lovely.' Our existance is a generation which cries 'Hat - $20.' We will begin by looking at the JTB-Guide-Dog model. Taking special care to highlight the role of sperm cell space travel within the vast framework which this provides.

There is no longer a need to argue the importance of sperm cell space travel, it is clear to see that the results speak for themselves. The question which surfaces now is, how? Seemingly interest world wide are driven entirely by sperm cell space travel. Many analysts fear a subsequent depression.

Conclusion

In my opinion sperm cell space travel must not be allowed to get in the way of the bigger question: why are we here? Putting this aside its of great importance. It inspires, ensures financial stability and most importantly it perseveres.

I will leave you with the words of Hollywood's Ozzy Jackson: 'My Daddy loved sperm cell space travel and his Daddy loved sperm cell space travel.'
