The Help Nathan Buy Firefly movement has closed down.
They revealed on monday they wanted to start a business funded by fan donations and would attempt to buy the rights to Firefly from Fox.
Joss Whedon's sister in law tweeted that none of the Whedon's had anything to do with the site and fans should save their money.
Seems to be like it was a scam and she stepped in to protect the fans. She has been very diplomatic about the whole thing on Twitter, which is good to see.

It seems rather complicated for a scam, but on the other hand, it's hard to imagine someone being naive enough to not only think it's a good idea, but to think it would even be possible.
