    Guys, keep in mind that these programs aren't being offered for free just because the authors are being nice.

    They're allowing users to become familiar with the programs--it's a great idea for budding CGI artists. It will allow them to use industry-standard tools without actually being in the industry. Having Soft-Image/Maya skills is great experience. It's nice to be able to get that experience without paying an arm and a leg for it.

    Are you talking about the SGI or MSDos version of SoftImage? (Or do they have a new version since I had access to it 2 years ago?)

    Too bad you can't save...otherwise I'd grab it.
