A lot of you have stated that it is probably worth trying and I agree. At this point we are pretty much running out of time and MS is one of the only developer that can easily fork over however much is necessary for the license and code. Thinking about it they might actually turn out to be the ideal choice. They have recently taken steps to try to support and produce revolutionary games that no other developer wants to take the risk of doing and thats one of the major problems ITF faces. It could be an ideal project for their new strategy. The problem with most other developers is that if they even remotely consider buying the sim then they will have to go into more months of analysis and negotiations to try to see if its worth it and get the deal right. I don't think there is much more time left for that. We really don't have much to lose at this point by giving them a shot.

There's also one big mistake we've made here in the way we went about finding a developer to pick it up. As soon as we heard Codemasters was interested and seriously looking into continuing the game we completely stopped looking for other support. We can't "put all our eggs in one basket". If another developer shows interest we still need to continue pushing even more into looking into it. Lets be realistic about this. While ideas of donating and collecting money might sound cool and heroic the simple truth is it will not work period. Lets focus our energy trying to find a useful solution. We are going to have to organize our biggest campaign ever right now if this is ever going to work and we need to do it FAST!

I think you may be right. Microsoft has the cash, and they did pretty well with Age of Empires 1 and 2. So, how do we contact them about it?

Something else to examine is that will the company produce the game to the Devs' standards? If not, they'd rather see it die honorably.
