A nudge is as good as a wink to a blind Python.

With me it's mostly just spiders. And any insect touching me against my will.

When it comes to insects, it's more of a "really don't like" than a fear for me.

• Mice/Rats. really scared of them especially when I try to go to sleep and you can hear them scratching away in the roof. The reduce me to a quivering mass of meaty muscle.

Some spiders. The small spiders don't scare me but the larger ones freak me out. Huntsman and up sized.

hehe, that the strange thing about my phobia of roaches...whats it going to do? crawl on me? but a spider, which can be poisonous, no problem. I was raking leaves and killed no less then 8 Black Widow spiders. no problem. (One was even crawling on me). if those had been roaches, I would have done a few thigns much differently (A: Found gloves, B: use rake as a shovle, rather then my bare hands, C: stayed as far away as possible from the leaves, etc. weird eh? )

I have this unbelievable fear of cutting a major bloodvain... I get the shivers when I'm writing a lot and i can feel my bloodvains bulging out a bit... and I don't like to stretch out my throat because I'm afraid that someone/something could slit it open... I also dislike the thumping of my own heart... I can't go to sleep if I can hear it...

A year ago I smashed my fist through a window, and tore parts of my arm open. I was totally calm about it at that time (which might have to do with the alcohol level in my blood), and a friend of mine pressed *hard* on my arm, to stop the bleeding. The ambulance came and drove me to the hospital, they stitched me up, and Im as good as new. You can really take a lot of beating as a human and still survive.

I did have a few fears about tearing up major arteries and veins before that, but now, I know I survived once, and can do it again.

Hearing about what happened to me hopefully helps a bit?

I lost some of the feeling in my (it was my right hand) thumb, but otherwise its just as before (except for the scars).

And Hofnar... sorry about your that mess

• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I actually had a little phase involving that few years ago. There was some basis in reality. In fifth grade, I tore off a chunk of skin on the playground playing tag. It really wasn't a major thing, but I needed to get stitches (the first--and last--time, so far). After that, I felt I would do something to hurt myself in some terrible, terrible way. So I didn't do anything.

It really didn't help my social difficulties. I've never been much of a socialite.

But hey, realizing the issue exists seems to be a good starting point, as I've seen. I somehow got over it by actually getting a rather nasty cut again, and not ending up dead.

But anyhoo, I've still got many fears. I'm trying to overcome a bunch, but I don't have the dedication to do it just yet.

There's also that terrible insecurity. I've got to deal with that someday...

Ah, humanity!

No, I'm not afraid of blood itself, just my own blood

Actually, I think this is because of an accident I had some time ago... I was carving a little wooden thingy with my pocket-knife. I pressed it too much and it closed snapping deep into my pinky. Nothing bad... just a few tendons broke, but the good doctor-person fixed it (after poking it for a few hours with a little wooden stick, trying to determine if there's really a cut in my finger ), but there was a lot of blood coming from it...
But then again, that might not be the reason...

Anyhow, better safe than sorry, eh?
At least I have a smaller chance of slitting an arterie...

heh, a few months ago I sliced my finger up good...trying to fix a...ohh...50 cent toy (One of those things where you pull a cord and it sends a little propeller up into the sky, cheap one, but safe and made for indoors)

Sooo...anyway, I was trying to cut out the insane amount of glue they used on this thing, when the blade slipped, and took a VERY deep trip into my middle finger, by deep, I mean 1/8th of and inch deeper and I would have been missing a large chunk of that finger (It sliced the bottom of the finger length wise, and was hanging on by a tinyest bit of skin, I cut though the skin, muscle, and almost to the bone).

After about 15 minutes and a few dozenpaper towles I had stopped the bleeding to the point that I could hold a single paper towel to it, and walk out of my bathroom to ask my mom where the bandades were. she didn't think I had cut myself badley uptill I removed the paper towel...

now...I have a nice scar there... *sigh*

Not NEARLY as bad as that dog that bit me though (This is interesting/weird/funny).

I was at a friends house having a waterbaloon fight, we stopped, went in, got cleaned up, etc. well, it looked like it was going to rain, and I relized I had left my watch outside (Hey, I was 7-8, and prone to forget things like that).

anyhoo, I went outside, grabbed my watch, and started to head back inside. unbeknowist to me, they had let their dalmation out, at that point the dog was bigger then I was. as I rounded the corner of the house, I almost stepped on the dog. I jumped back (Swinging my arms back in the process), the dog jumped back, then forward. Bit me hard (Now the funny part) on my sholder. Whats so funny about that? well, the upper jaw didn't even scratch me, but the lower jaw, that happened to be in my armbit, hit home. OW. It didn't just cut me, it literaly tore the skin off of me, leaving a nice little hole in my armpit. Anyhoo, got to the nice doctor, who stiched it up for me (First and hopefully LAST time I need stiches). spent the next month having to change these outrageously ichy and PAINFUL to remove bandages twice a day....

Now the weird part...the dog died two weeks later....

another dog (Little yippy thing)bit me a few years ago. less then two weeks after it bit me, died.

the dalmation was a BIG dog, but a little past it's prime, the yippy thing was still young....
coincidence?
