I'm still wondering how disoriented a person would get if their eye was dropped from lower ionosphere height all the way to ground. Given that it is round, the terminal velocity of the eye would only be about 1-2 m/s so the impact shouldn't damage the eye. I'm just wondering what it would mentally do to the person seeing though that eye (who is safely in a building nowhere near the eye).
1-2 m/s? Are you nuts? Round objects don't create much resistance with air, and in any case, the density of the eye matters much more. I'm not entirely sure how fast terminal velocity would be, but with acceleration due to gravity near 9.8 m/(s^2), a relatively non-resistive shape, and a density greater than that of foam it's bound to hit far more than 2 m/s.

Actually not true. Let me give you some data samples.
Terminal Velocities (assuming spherical shape of object):
Rain Drop (approx 10^-4m diameter): 0.33 m/s
Basket Ball (approx 2.5*10^-1m diameter): 20.5 m/s
Now, an eyeball approximately 1-1.5 cm is only going to fall 1 to 5 m/s, most likely toward the lower end. If you care to do the math, I happen to know it [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img] - but I'm lazy so I'm approximating based on the two known values above.
