Actually Biggles, find a country on this planet that doesn't have Urianium in clay pottery and in the soil and I'd be surprised

NO Uranium, Not even for the use for public power plants??

• Of course. New Zealand is a "nuclear-free" nation, after all.

Nuclear free zone are stupid, Why?(I'm not refering in New Zealand in General)
Why??
1. Nuclear power is much cleaner then Coal and Oil.

2. If you combined all the radation from all the nuclear meltdowns in the world. and campare that with all the CO2 Emitted by one or two coal plants.
The coal plant(s) would produce more CO2 then radiation from all the nuclear melt downs put to geater.
Those are the two main reason.
But... A Nation with a small puplation would not realy need Nuclear power plants. You are more apt to use Green Power sourse.(Wind, Hydro,Solar .ect)

Nulclear power should only be used in areas of High population Desnity, or high population. A nuclear power plant would be a better power sourse. Make sences?(Unless I have made to many spelling errors or Grammer Errors)

Ah, ah, ah, but radiation and CO2 are different kinds of pollution. While volcanos and forest fires have been spewing the likes of carbon monoxide and such into our atomsphere with few detremental effects, things like radioactive iodine gas are much rarer and much more deadly.

Which is why I always give Turkey Point a dirty look when I'm out at the bay.

Lets see here Hummm Ok

1 accidental release of unscubbed coal smoke
***cough wheeze cough spit go indoors***

2 accidental release of radiation.
*** hair falls out, skin swells up, lungs and most of the body fills with fluid cooked from inside out***

Fair trade. I don't think so. They should be as far from the general population as possible. The technology is not yet good enough to make them safe.

• Yeah, But Coal power plants Polute a hell of a lot more then Nuclear power plants. And it is very rare that a nuclear power plants melt down, and is mosty Human error thats does it.

And Coal power plant realy **** up the planet, ever more then Nuclear.

Until you need to get rid of the waste from the reactor fuel... waste that hangs around for tens to hundreds of thousands of years.

For NZ, it makes far more sense to use the oodles of rivers we have lying around.

Coal? How about water, wind, solar, and using new technology to harness hydrogen fuel cells or wave actions of the oceans.

Many other ways besides coal or nuclear.

Absolutely. Unfortunately, the big corporations who control the world don't like the idea of actually spending money to develop these new technologies.

Theres aways Fusion power(which they mite be bulding one that will produce power for real, (eather in Canada, Germany or Japan)

Here in ontario there are only 5 Coal Power plants(Being Shut down with in a few years), 5 Nuclear power plants. and a hole pile of Hydro Plants(Good old Hydro Power ). I think there going build(or have) some wind power mills.
Like I have said Nuclear power is only good for area the have high population.

Also Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars are the best Idea. A)They dont Pollute. B) The only Emmission it Water.
