excuse me while I completly highjack this thread in typical FO style...
what would be the first ten things you'd do as global despot of Terra ?
1. Make all the worlds hotspots, Jerusalem etc UN protectorates and give the UN real political and martial power.
2. Assemble the finest harem the world has ever seen.
3. Establish a global "Space Advancement Organisation" responsible for getting the human race 'out of the egg' we call this world.
4. Gut Microsoft and give the best bits to Apple.
5. Make ITF, ( I guess that should be first. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/biggrin.gif[/img] )
6. Build the worlds biggest design/engineering/construction toy box for myself and my mates so we can make effectively ANYTHING
7. Equalise men with women
8. Put all nuclear weapons under the direct control of the UN or a similar global body and clean the **** up all the nuclear waste, rotting Soviet subs etc.
9. Ban basically every form of irrigated, chemcially based, genetically modified, monocultural, inefficent or ecologically unsound, agriculture across the whole world.
10. Raze Hollywood.

2. Colonize other planets/the moon.

4. Create a company that makes quality games that I want...
5. Totally destroy and then rebuild the UN from the ground up.
6. Create a lazertag type arena where there is really team based combat.
7. Figure out the middle east (and other hotspots) and try to fix them (or nuke em, just kidding)...
8. Create a computer game that requires teamwork (and where you dont have to play with 13 year old idiots who love to be idiots)
9. Make other people understand that the US is not filled with stupid assholes who want to conquer the whole world.
10. Fix education system (pay teachers more to start with).

2. Put a Ban on Nuclear Weapons. and Any country that haves Nukes, would have to Dis arm them. And would under go inspection to make sure that they did so.(This inclueds the US, Russia and China)
3. Ban all Chemical and Bio weapons(Same thing Applys as apove)
4. Internation Health Care System

and lets not forget that there are many types of capitalism...that of the wellfare state, the liberal or classic, the neo-liberal etc...each sticks up for a determined pruduction way, or acumulation properties, each focused in a different dominant class, and based on the sacrifice of another class...or people...in the imperialist era of the XVIII(18th), XIV(19th) centuries, the potencies relyed on the colonies and today the market explores the financial difficulties of the poorest countryes to enlarge their dependance on their money and products....
so socialism or social democracy if it works and solves the differences bettwenn classes especially in the developing countryes is a good way since the current neo-liberal regime regards only the interests of the market and the multinational companies....anyway too extense and turbulent topic....
