The Babylon Project - A Freespace 2 Total Conversion has moved

What might be of your interest:
- Next release will be stand-alone, does not require original Freespace 2 to work.
- Next release will use fs2_open, upgraded Freespace 2 engine.

The link in my sig points to new TBP homepage, unfortunately it is not finished yet. Weird news are a result of news script test. :p

    It's not the server. It's the FO site in particular. They keep using up all their bandwidth.

    The subdomains are part of the firstones site, and it's not our fault firstones is more popular than we can pay for. :)

    Before ya'll update, you need to make sure you links work. I haven't checked them all yet, but the screenshots link 404's out. Personally, I'm glad the project hasn't died out like so many have. (Remember BWO? There hasn't been any updates on it for over a year.)

    Ahh. If you really want to give it a facelift, you might want to consider using the Gallery script instead of using javascript to pop up new windows since any decent popup blocker will block that on the spot. If you want an example of how it looks, check out the pinups of members on the main site.

    But there would still be need for more polygons (or real displacement mapping), much of details in Omega's hull look "flat".

    Since we are no longer using retail FS2 engine, but fs2_open, our new range of polycount is 1k-2k for fighters and 3k-5k for capital ships.
    However, it takes time to upgrade all old models and highly unlikely it will happen anytime soon.
