1) About the "casting call"

The "casting call" which popped up on a Canadian rumour site (seeking a replacement for Galen, leaving it unclear who plays Lochley, and not mentioning anyone else)...

...is to my impression severely incomplete, but likewise about as unofficial as possible. It obligates Warner to nothing... and indeed offers a nice avenue for "testing response".

2) About JMS

I find it *hard* to believe that JMS would refrain from two words... "don't worry" or four words "please stop spreading rumours". Unless he truly were facing a troublesome situation.

Telling us to stop... would not violate his agreements. That he instead told he *wanted* to tell... suggests to me that he perceives our activity to benefit his venture (or at least, not harm it).

i've seen the casting call listed on sites that lend it more creedence than rumor, like galacticgateway.com, run by a former cast member.

As for what jms can and can't say, sure, 2 words would be fine, unless he has been specifically told to SAY NOTHING. period, remember, that if this turns out to be a hoax, or just rumor, its drummed up a LOT of publicity among the fans, and if all this goes by, and the orig cast does get used, all the fans say "yay we won, we changed their mind, lets go see the movie a dozen times"

\WB may WANT this publicity and not want JMS to say anything one way or the other.

I've seen the casting call in more places than just a rumour site. It's been posted on sites that aggregate casting calls.

I fear we are going into Vorlon logic here... but would a prohibition against saying anything... not include saying that one *wants* to say something?

Ah... I so wish I had an intelligence agency.
• A gagging order..JMS told to keep quiet about B5 by the Suits?

It would not be the first time that a writer/producer was told to just keep his mouth shut.

And it seems to me thats exactly his situation at the moment.
• Great News! Word of the campaign continues to spread! We thank one and all for their aid and assistance and ask everyone to go to www.keepb5alive.com and continue to support the original cast and JMS in their efforts to make "Babylon 5: The Memory of Shadows" all it promises to be!

Here's an update on media that have covered the campaign!

Also, believe it or not, SFX Magazine who had previously had a major falling out with JMS and B5 has reported positively on the new film and the "New Crusade" by the fans to save the cast! Word is spreading...but we need more letters, more B5 Bucks mailed. We hope we can continue to count on all of our fellow SF family to fight in this cause!

We are estimating that the numbers of Bucks and letters mailed in are fairly high, but we still need more sent to WB and TPTB to let them know that the fans are speaking...leave the original actors in their roles! And let JMS do what he knows to be best to make TMoS the best film and wonderful film we all know it has the potential to be!

Thank you all again for everything and we hope to have your continued support and letters!

And upon finding out SFX was for the project, JMS promptly walked off the project never to return...
• yeh - sfx mentions how cool the shadows will look with todays technology.
