Haha. I actually saw this game today..

As a game it certainly looks challenging. As a job it isn't really something you'd want to do all day long for the rest of your life. It only pays minimum wage. Maybe the game's more successful.

I'm still on the fence regarding Euro Truck Simulator. Driving trucks in GTA:SA wasn't halfway bad....
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I spent two hours at work playing a demo of Bus Simulator 2009 during one of our slow days. It was...bussy.

Possibly the best aspect was hitting the brakes too hard, and the ensuing screaming of passengers.
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Sanfam, you'd make a good bus driver over here then :)

Ship Simulator is also ok for the first few hours and then you are also done with that.

I guess there is only so much you can do that doesn't involve shooting and/or explosions before it becomes stale.

I still didn't get around trying trainz... but that has also limited appeal.

Noone seems to have asked the most important question: is it more fun than Pro Bull Rider?
• having played bus simulator, various truck simulations and just recently railworks (yes, i am bereft of any social life) I still shudder at the thought of playing forklift simulator (or looking at the youtube recommeded list "farming simulator"). even i got my limits :p

I was thinking about it, but my mind had repressed the title or the entire concept for that matter. :D
• Nothing beats slacking from forklift truck simulator.. One day I took a train simulator and headed towards countryside. I enjoyed my whole day with fishing simulator...

When the sun was starting to set, I had a little cruise with ship simulator to another town nearby, where I took bus simulator to get me back home.
At home I opened my computer and played some Sims.
• Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
I spent last weekend in my GTF Perseus, escorting and trying to save some convoys escaping from the Capella star system under attack by Shivans. We got most home but by the end I had to jump away anyway, because the sun went nova. Which wasn't nice.

This game most certainly requires a Carmageddon style "Staplerfahrer Klaus" Splat Pack until I'm completely satisfied...

Depends on where you work I guess...

Forklift driving is one of the better and better paying positions where I work.

;)
• That must include lifting watercoolers...

True, I can imagine that someone dealing with depleted uranium gets a different salary than someone who has to move soda cans. And then you also have different sizes of forklifts... you know, the ones they use on air/ports... the kind that can lift large shipping containers. I was referring to the kind that you see in this simulator.

So let's pretend it's Gordon Freeman who drives that forklift at Black Mesa and he has to replace the carbon rods of a nuclear reactor before the next shift starts. :D

I enjoy Freespace 2, personally. Haven't played part 1.

I'm intrigued by Farming Simulator 2009. If anything it's going to give you a sample of what the work of a farmer consists of and why they keep complaining about the low prices for their crops and dairy products.

Gonna take a closer look. :D (I'm tempted, especially since this is a non-violent game and there's even a demo. (65MB))

I'm also curious about Silent Hunter 4. It was a buggy mess at release time (as usual for the series). I wonder if they've patched it to the point that it runs reliably?
• you could make a story out of it.. use farming simulator to grow the crops, drive them to manufacturing with euro truck simulator, drive the processed goods into town with railworks train simulator, deliver the goods via truck to the store and then use bus simulator to ferry the customers to the store. then strap yourself in your white vest and go to sleep :p
• WORFWORF The Burninator
We need a supermarket shopping simulator too, so you can buy the goods you spent so much time growing and moving around.

• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
So, essentially, what you are saying is that playing video games is a complete waste of time?! :D

I tried the demo of the farming simulator. It's actually really well done considering the subject matter. Quite polished too. And best of all, you can't smell a hint of manure. :D
• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
That doesn't sound very realistic.
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
In fact, as far as I can tell, you only deal with growing and harvesting crops, from grass to corn. I've seen a herd of cows next to a farm, but it looks like they are just there as window dressing. So no cattle farm features at this time.

If you ask nicely, maybe they'll release a collector's edition with a cow manure bonus trophy. One small step for man... :D

I'm still on the fence on this one...
• It appears that the hunting simulator, Deer hunter is nowadays free.

Also it looks good... http://www.thehunter.com/pub/

/ oh, it's not the deer hunter I remembered... But some hunting sim anyway.
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
It seems to me that just about anything can be called a simulator nowadays.

Pro Bull Rider Simulator 2009! :D
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Stingray, just wait for Pro Bull Rider Sim 2010. They decided to take some ideas from Guitar Hero and Rockband by releasing it with it's own controller.

• WORFWORF The Burninator
Didn't you hear? They cancelled that.

• WORFWORF The Burninator
How can we include that in Wiseguy's sim plan?
