Sanfam/Drazi Guy/etc :

Is it possible we can change the sunject of this forum ever so slightly to become a general Babylon 5 related forum?

This is a respected meeting place of many talented and important individuals in the Babylon universe.

It should be kept live as a tribute to the whole Babylon 5 environment.

This would include references to the new Legend of the Rangers movie, and possible follow up series.

And would be a good location for B5 related game posts etc. I suspect that the final resting of B5:Itf will not kill it but start a whole new avalanche of pebbles...

• I'm not sure I know just what to say, this is.. for lack of a more appropriate word, quite unfortunate. To everyone involved in this, I can only offer my thanks. In the end, the result doesn't matter, we'll always have this journey and the friendships we've made here. You all stood up and fought for all of us when no one else would; this expierence has been incredibly unique, I've never seen anything like it before and I wonder if I ever will again.

I know I don't post all that much, but this place is still like a second home to me. I'll be here as long as this place exists, and I suspect many feel the same way. I look forward to your future projects, whatever they may be. There's something special about knowing the people behind the scenes, you've shown us a side of this world that I don't think any of us knew existed.

We may not have saved ITF, but we've all gained something from the past 2 years that no one can ever take away from us. Try to remember that. Thanks for everything, I know that if there was anything that could have been done, you guys would have done it. The good guys don't always win, but you stood firm and fought for it to the end, I respect that in ways that words can't express.

• I feel I must add on this quote, it's true in ways that everyone will understand here, and well, we could use a little humour.
You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe.

To all the Developers:

Thank you for everything. If it wasn't for the game you were trying to get out, this international meeting place would not have existed. The amount of devotion and persistence that I have witnessed over the years from all of you is nothing short of awe inspiring. I thought that level of dedication no longer existed or was incredibly rare. And rare you are... you have had a massive impact on my life. It has been an honour to get to know you, or even just converse with you.

To everyone else here, moderators and posters, thank you as well. You have all been here through the thick and thin, and even though some of us have passed beyond the rim, just being able to say I was a part of this means a lot to me and makes me proud. Although I did not post much, I feel as if I know everyone here, and it would be a shame if people started leaving now. I will always be here... I will be here when they turn off the lights, and then for a while.

FirstOnes.com endures....

• Well, well, well...
it's all over now. I believe we have tried as hard as possible, but let's face it: the world is full of pricks.

Now I feel like quoting John Lennon:

"Just a boy and a little girl
Trying to change the whole wide world
Isolation

The world is just a little town
Everybody trying to put as down
Isolation"

Just change the boy and the girl to "a bunch of people in the Firstones' forums".

Jack: OK--- you're certified *duck*

And I agree with you wholeheartedly---FO.com should stay around---change the game topic to "The gaming community"....Or maybe just let Zocalo take over

Thanks Rick, and everyone at Sector 14 who kept our dreams alive this long. I wish you all luck in the future for whatever you do.
Your dedication to B5:ItF has been truly superb - no one could ask you to have given anything more than you did.

I just hope that these forums continue to exist as it is easily the best community on the web - at least we have b5:LotR to look forward to and the release of B5 on DVD.

one of the worst things of all these years,...as we didn´t know everything, some clues yes, but not all...

i can understand why they didn´t want to sell every thing in the past but...not in the last 6 months...if some1 ask why...well...

Sierra is closing most of the dev teams, they are more a publisher company as ever, the b5:itf and its tech is valuable for every company and the IP,etcetc...as they research for that...they didn´t want that on the hands of others but..now it has no sense,...why?,..mmm...now they close a door.

who will be enough stupid to license a movie to make games to Sierra?.

by now only the stupids of THE Lord of the Rings.Tiscali group company...if i´m wrong...send me a note.

Will in the future Warner Bross license any game to Sierra?...i think not.

more doors closed.

wing commander story closed, b5 story closed, frespace story closed, good stories closed...only star wars...only one , and few microsoft,...the MAIN stories with movies closed, with hundreds of pages, closed.

i know about i´war but that game is more like b-17´s sim game than a figther class sim game.

Another bad thing as Sierra didn´t made any other b5 related kind of game, i can understand...the space sim...little market, but ...homeworld?,halflife?,...they have and had enough types of games to make another one.

i think is more a problem ...of...b5...the KIND of story...the sides, the similarities with the real life, shadows-chaos, vorlons- order,...take a look on homeworld,...like...Noe,like the promise land of...........do you understand?.

thats why i was in diaspora till last week...to make a "mod"...well only some skins for the game...bad ones but...that game was a online-game, and not very ...very...hard to make a real mod to B5 licensing the tech or some of the tech from altitude, but at the end i was very angry with altitude for the management, the cheating and hacking so i´m out of the game, and everything deleted ingame (and my guild soulhunters lol).

well,...by now...with no dev team making b5:ift or any game for b5 ...we only have the mods,...

well i know..no1 will read this...but..i needed to write this, sorry if....

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........i have some ideas

This is very sad news, but I don't think it's all that surprising. But I do think that we should try and keep Firstones around, it's been great and there's no reason it can't keep being great.
It's already been said, but there is the new movie to look forward too, as well as DVDs and the large number of B5 mods. I'll be sticking around as long as this place remains. Good luck to everyone on the ITF team, and thank you for always giving us hope.

Today is a dark day, but there is still hope as long as the site remains. The mods exist for now and sooner or later, someone will see the sense of creating a proper b5 game (no offence to the other mod guys). I hope that it will live up to the ITF dream, but that is going to be hard. I also hope that if such a game is to come into existance, they bring in the s14 guys to work on it.

To Rick and the others at S14, Good luck with whatever you do next and I hope you return when another B5 game is going to be made.

How bout the cost of keepign the site open, perhaps some of us could try and donate either time, money or services in some way to help keep this place running, Cause the time to scuttle the station isn't here yet, We're still an active port of call isntead of a relic cloggin up the space lanes.

Rick, Randy, and the rest, I don't think words alone can express how sorry I am that this didn't pan out. But I also have trouble conveying the gratitude I feel knowing that you put so much effort into saving this project.

That you all would throw caution to the wind and confront insurmountable odds so that people you've never met could play a game that deserved to be made... impresses me to no end.

If I can, I will follow and support your future projects with all of the commitment I can muster...because you deserve it.

I Feel a Quote comming......

[b]The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice.
The language is not American or British or Finnish or German or French or Spanish or Dutch.

It speaks in the language of hope. It speaks in the language of trust.
It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion.
It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul.
But always it is the same voice.

It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us.
And the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born.
It is the small, still voice that says we are One.

No matter the blood, no matter the skin,
No matter the world, no matter the star,
We are One.
No matter the pain, no matter the darkness,
No matter the loss, no matter the fear.
We are One.

Here, gathered together in common cause
We agree to recognize this singular truth and this singular rule:
That we must be kind to one another.

Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us,
And each voice lost diminishes us.

With nothing but apparant cliches I will tell you something. -You haven't a frillin' clue who I am. But I'm just like you. I'm with ya all in this. I have been there since the beginning. A Firstone lurker. Only began registering and posting later on but I'll tell ya this: I will lean back and watch. I have learned a lot of things in life and I know of a true constant force that goes for everyone and everything. Bad things, bad accidents, bad experiences, bad periods of your life all lead to something better, something that will perfect in the grand scheme of things. I can say that today is a very sad day for me, not just because of B5:ITF but for personal reasons this is a turning point in my life. It's really bad but I am one hundred percent sure that this(Bt:ITF) will be for the better, and actually for the best, in its most positive sence. The death of this game is a blow to the head and a tip of the hat to the many that supported this game for years(cliche) but I know that you're all in for a surprise. What it is you're the ones to find out. I know as little as you. I may be certifiable as Warleader or JackN but I know in my heart that this is for the better and when you least expect it it will walk through the front door and it will be wonderful.

As for Firstones, I will remain here despite my so rare posts for all my life. This place will be more than it is as it stands I'm sure. Be glad, lads and las', 'cause better things are ahead. Should Firstones.com be in danger of being shut down I have several ideas and some of them quite...tangable.

Firstones has only just begun.

My sincerest grattitude to the people involved in front and behind the scenes.

And like someone said we can experience Babylon 5 in many games allready. There is a large number of different mods allready and when the Freespace 2 mod is ready we can fly the Starfury offcourse it will not be the same thing as the real game but...when the time is desperate we must accept the facts.

Thanks for the dedication Rick, you had a lot more stamina than any of us
deserved. It's always been gratifiying that others cared so much for our
little project -your level of caring being beyond anything. I think we've
all come out a little for the better after all -God knows I would probably
would havel let Sierra continue to kick me in the teeth until I cracked -I
think it was a good thing to part with them -too bad it meant parting with
all of you. BUT, we've made some great new friends and I hope that the
memory of what we all had (the good and the bad) will live on. I work for a
really great company now -the most caring and progressive I've ever
seen -yet they are still trying to figure out how to get the kind of synergy
we had -I wish I could give them a recipe, but there isn't one other than a
unique combination of people in a unique place. I miss it.

Raise a glass to Rick and yourselves -it was one hell of a rollercoaster,
and we all survived (more or less). Take heart that the magic wasn't B5, it
was US. Everyone of you has it within you to grab another project by the
balls and make it cry uncle again -you just have to do it.

Hopefully we can do it together again some day.

I of course will not be leaving this place which I can proudly call a second home. I feel I have gotten to know many of you over the past few years, some of you I even consider friends.

Devs, there is no way I can possible express how grateful I am for all you guys have done for people you have never even met before. All you have done for us was not in vain. You helped to bring our little diverse group closer together than any other forum community that I know of. Once again thank you. Anyways, fellas lets not let this place die. I enjoy coming here and reading the posts and getting involved in the discussions we have here.

Can I just add my voice to the clamour for a complete & unexpurgated history of this struggle from the Devs point of view sometime soon?
